Interactive Human Tissues 3D Modeling by CT/MR Data

This work concerns / deals with theoretical analysis, design and implementation of system for creation three-dimensional computer models of human body tissues. These models will be created by computer tomography (CT) and magnetic resonance (MR) data. Output of medical apparatuses based on these principles is a three-dimensional raster, which is not good for visualization and making real models. For required tissues extraction are used automatic or semiautomatic methods, where is necessary an operation of a specialist. This work is concerned with human body tissues with linear structure such as veins and arteries, nerves, bone canals etc. These structures are problematic recognizable by automatic methods. Therefore is convenient an operation of a specialist, which is adept in human anatomy.
Numerical model of hollow fiber arrangement in heat exchanger

This paper deals with the topic of numerical arrangement of fibers in a heat exchanger. The heat exchanger is scanned in an industrial tomograph and the acquired data are represented by the field of voxels. The method used in this paper is based on tracing the fiber fragments through the use of image analysis and the subsequent numerical connection of the fragments. The result is a set of fibers that are represented by points in the field through which they are passing.
The role of imaging techniques in creation of computational models in biomechanics.

The first part of the bachelor´s thesis is dealt with the processing history of imaging techniques and their indications in a clinical practice. From point of view of the computer modeling, the computer tomography plays an important role in biomechanics. The second part of this treatment describes the scan processing of sections of two human mandible obtained from computer CT and micro-CT tomography. As a non-invasive way procedure can be characterized the image processing techniques, which analyze a bone density and BVF. The manual segmentation was applied in this analysis provided in ROI analysis software. There are shown the graphs of the bone densities of segments of two human mandibles depending on the specimen length and also there are compared the results of the measurements received from the CT and micro-CT tomography. Then follow the results illustrating the correlation of the relations and recalculations, which can be used as the determination tool of the mechanical properties of bone tissue. Finally there are described the computer models created in ANSYS focused on the different bone density analysis and stress strain analysis.
Reconstruction of the face using skull:analysis of CT images of the head of adult Czech population

AJ Knowledge of the soft facial tissues is the basis of any craniofacial reconstruction. It is of a great importance mainly for forensic practice, but it plays an important role in other fields, for example aesthetic surgery. Defining the thickness of facial tissues for different sexes, age and ethnic groups is an important aspect of forensic anthropology. The thesis specialises in finding out the thickness of soft facial tissues in modern czech population, it takes into consideration the sex, age and assymetry. The main source of information are the CT scans of the heads of 46 adult women and 56 adult men of czech nationality ranging between ages 21 to 83. 80 landmarks are defined in each scan, therefore 40 linear measurements between corresponding points have been evaluated. Data were analysed using the PCA, Hotelling test, linear discrimination analysis, Kolmogorov-Smirnov test, MANOVA, Kruskal-Wallis test and Wilcoxon paired test. Retrieved thicknesses of soft tissues will serve as the standards for the current czech population. Sexual dimorphism has been proven regarding the whole face, as well as both upper and lower parts of the face. The success of classification on the upper part of the face decresases significantly. 15th International Ichnofabric Workshop : program, abstracts, Field Guidebook

Radek Mikuláš convened the 15th International Ichnofabric Workshop to Prague (April 27th – May 5th, 2019). Thirty-two specialists from over the world presented recent contributions from the mainstream branch of ichnology, e.g., ichnofabrics of terrestrial systems. Special discussion block was devoted to the use of computed tomography in the study of Ichnofabric. Three days (five days for participants of the post-workshop excursion) for the workshop were devoted to field excursions. Thereby, most of the localities known only through publications have been seen and evaluated directly to the world top ichnologists.

Title: Hybrid renderer Author: Matúš Goliaš Department: Department of Software and Computer Science Education Supervisor: RNDr. Josef Pelikán, KSVI Abstract: In medical applications, there are often used both volume data and objects defined by their surface. However, rendering these two types of data together is rather dif- ficult. This thesis provides the description of ray marching algorithm for volume rendering. We base the algorithm on the emission-absorption model of light trans- fer through a gaseous material. Moreover, we discuss the problems of adding meshes to the volume with respect to the algorithm. Next, we propose an ex- tension of ray marching which takes all meshes into account and renders them with the volume correctly. In addition, we compare the individual approaches for solving steps of the algorithm. Finally, we implement our solution in an ap- plication for volume viewing. We develop this renderer using OpenGL and we discuss our options of implementation. Furthermore, we extend our application by allowing the camera inside the volume, clipping the scene and interactive edit- ing of transfer functions which define the colour representation of volume data. Medical image registration

This thesis deals with the registration of images, which differ only in the shift and rotation, taken from CT angiography. The term of registration and transformation between the images are explained here. Three methods are used for registration. The first method is based on Fourier transform and it is called the phase correlation. The other two methods use the measured data by phase correlation and then the data is processed using the least squares method or singular value decomposition.
